Its A 'Niu' Year!

So, CNY is finally here again! :)

This is the year of the ox and with the world economies in such a terrible and hopeless mess, let's hope that the ox will help to see us through it as painlessly as possible. Yes, I know, what a way to describe the situation..one should remain optimistic. Afterall, it doesn't hurt to have more laughter does it?

Laughter or a person who laughs all the time is known as a 'Laughing Nut'..haha..yes, in mandarin, the person is known as 'kai xin guo'. It is truly quite pleasant to be happy and always laughing together about something. It could be a simple tv programme or just an event related. Generally, it is the sharing of a cheerful atmosphere. :)

For CNY, we took our photos as usual but this year it we have a special guest! Yes yes, he is none other than cutie Issac. He is one fine looking baby and I am sure he will grow up to be a fine young man too. (Well, there are always the aunties - mum's siblings and cousins, to make sure that he does turn out well!) It is good to have updates and changes and in our technology age, we really need to be doing things all the time, enriching ourselves and adding to our 'resume'.

And yes I digress..CNY is always a time for families, loved ones and close friends and it is not really peculiar that one feels a stronger urge to celebrate these ties as one grows older. This likely happens when one has done some 'growing up', ie. gone through a few phases of our lives and have achieved some stability. One may do some reflecting and hence the urge to build on and appreciate relationsips.

If you have not been spending much time with family and loved ones, perhaps it is time to review what you have put into your 'resume' and decide if it is time to enrich yourself in a different area. Because, one lives but only once and if one were to be critically ill one day, it may perhaps be too late for regrets. There is a chinese saying 'You can have all the money in the world but you will leave the world the way you entered it - with nothing at all.' Now, isn't that so apt? If you have not spared a thought for or appreciated close ones for a while, perhaps now is a good time to start. :)
