A Weekday

Yup, it was a simple meal today. Isn't it amazing how a simple meal can still be a pleasant one?

Today was a pleasant day. We did some shopping for shoes and we actually made a purchase. :) As the purchase was above a certain amount, we were entitled to a free freshwater pearl.

Usually, one would expect the free gift to be in a simple packaging where one can simply collect and go. However, this proved to be a slightly different concept. The 'gift' in this case was literally obtained right before our eyes. The lady at the counter took an oyster and opened it with a knife. She then extracted the pearl and dipped it in water. It was a pink pearl! The remaining oyster with its shell was discarded. I thought it was quite a waste actually. But I guess it could be used to make other products..

Following the pearl experience, we went for a simple dinner. The dinner although budget, was filling and satisfying. We then went for a stroll around the neighbourhood. As it was a weekday, we decided to go off early and prepare for the rest of the week ahead. :)
